Buying an Antminer Z15K 565K in the USA: specs, power and what to expect

Direct answer: The Bitmain Antminer Z15K 565K is an air-cooled Equihash miner for Zcash (ZEC). The manufacturer rates it at 565 KSol/s and about 2,500 W on 220–277 V, so it will not run on a standard 120 V outlet. Plan a dedicated 240 V circuit with a licensed electrician. The Z15K 565K is available from USA stock with no import duties for US buyers.

1. What the Antminer Z15K is

The Antminer Z15K is an ASIC miner built for one job: the Equihash algorithm. Equihash is the proof-of-work behind Zcash (ZEC), and the Z15K can also mine Horizen (ZEN). It cannot mine Bitcoin or Litecoin. Those use SHA-256 and Scrypt, which need different hardware.

Equihash hashrate is measured in Sol/s (solutions per second), not TH/s. The 565K in the name means about 565,000 Sol/s, written 565 KSol/s. The Z15K has its power supply built into the case, so there is no separate PSU to buy or wire up.

2. Manufacturer specs

These are the manufacturer's figures. Real performance varies with input voltage, room temperature, airflow and firmware.

3. Power: plan for 240 V before you order

This is the part US buyers most often miss. Most US wall outlets are 120 V. The Z15K needs 220–277 V AC, so plugging it into a regular outlet will not work.

  • Use a dedicated 240 V circuit. Many US garages and shops already have 240 V for a dryer, welder or EV charger. Do not share that circuit with the miner.
  • Size the circuit for continuous load. A miner runs 24/7. At about 2,500 W on 240 V the unit draws a little over 10 A. Electrical codes treat that as a continuous load, so the breaker and wire must be rated with headroom.
  • Hire a licensed electrician. Have them install or check the circuit, breaker, wire gauge and receptacle. Follow local code and your utility's rules.
  • Check your power cost. About 2,500 W is roughly 60 kWh per day, or about 1,800 kWh per month. Multiply by your rate per kWh to see your monthly power bill for one unit.

4. Heat, noise and where to put it

At about 75 dB (manufacturer figure), the Z15K is about as loud as a vacuum cleaner and runs all day and night. Almost all of the 2,500 W turns into heat. It suits a garage, shed, basement mining room or rack space, not a bedroom or office.

  • Give it a clear path for cool intake air and hot exhaust air. Do not let it pull its own exhaust back in.
  • Keep it dry and reasonably dust-free.
  • In hot months, plan extra ventilation. High intake temperatures can lower hashrate.

5. Setup in six steps

  1. Power ready: dedicated 240 V circuit checked by a licensed electrician.
  2. Network: run an Ethernet cable from your router to the miner's RJ45 port. Wi-Fi is not supported.
  3. Pool and wallet: pick a Zcash (or Horizen) mining pool and have a wallet address ready for payouts.
  4. Power on and find the IP: switch it on, then find its IP address in your router's device list.
  5. Configure: open the IP in a web browser, log in to the miner dashboard, and enter your pool URL, worker name and password.
  6. Watch the first hour: check that hashrate climbs toward its rated level, that both fans spin, and that temperatures settle.

6. Profitability: what changes it

No one can promise what a miner will earn, and we don't. The Z15K's results depend on three things that all change:

  • ZEC price. Rewards are paid in ZEC, so their value moves with the market.
  • Network difficulty. As more hashrate joins the Zcash network, each miner's share of rewards shrinks.
  • Your electricity cost. Power is the main running cost. A lower rate per kWh makes a big difference.

FAQ

Antminer Z15K in the USA FAQ

Can I buy an Antminer Z15K 565K in the USA?

Yes. The Z15K 565K is available from USA stock, so US buyers pay no import duties. Request a quote with your quantity and ZIP code and we reply with one clear price in USD or CAD, plus shipping.

Does the Z15K run on a normal 120 V outlet?

No. The manufacturer lists 220–277 V AC input. In a US home or shop that usually means a dedicated 240 V circuit installed or checked by a licensed electrician.

What coins can the Z15K mine?

It mines Equihash coins, mainly Zcash (ZEC), and also Horizen (ZEN). It cannot mine Bitcoin.

How much power does the Z15K 565K use?

The manufacturer figure is about 2,500 W at the wall, roughly 60 kWh per day if it runs around the clock.

Is the Antminer Z15K profitable?
